The Best Advice

Make Your Days Count! ❤️

As 51 approaches fast and the year comes quickly to an end, I sit here and reflect how time is such a present and a gift. Some may wonder why all the positive quotes and scriptures. The truth is it helps me stay connected to my Mother.

My Mother loved God and Jesus was her Bestfriend. Every single day we talked, she made me believe everything was possible and through prayer and touching and agreeing, nothing was beyond my reach. Every time she spoke, she had an encouraging word and a scripture to go with it. My Mother was a great speaker and her memory was phenomenal. To this day she is is the only person I knew in my world who memorized the King James Bible.

In church, she was a treat to see in Action. In the church a pastor would call a verse and say stand when you have it. My Mother would always just get up and start reciting the verses. She knew her Bible backwards and forwards and studied it everyday of her life.

Now that she has passed, I miss her dearly and all her encouragement. I play and hear her lessons daily in my mind.

So all I can say is love the people in your life that mean something and always let them know you care. Time is a gift and many of us wish we simply just had another 5 minutes. Forget, forgive and prioritize your time and who is worthy to get it! It will be the best decision you will ever make!!! ❤️

Be a Registered Donor Because Love Lives On! ❤️

Yesterday, I completed a task that I have given a lot of thought and time. However, yesterday was the day I put my thoughts into action.
I strongly believe you have to be the change you wish to see in the world. Change in my 🌎 will always start with me.

I personally had 3 life events that motivated me to be at this point. When my mother passed in 2014,

A doctor approached my father and myself and asked if we would consider our mother to be an organ donor. In that moment, the answer was No!!! The doctor tried to explain that my mother was in great condition and her organs could help save many lives. My mother never smoked nor drank and was in great shape. Our answer was still NO!

Fast forward, my bestie from college John Williams, was on the transplant list for years needing a kidney. Unfortunately in March of 2019, my heart stopped for a moment. I got the call no one wants to hear. My bestie was gone. To this day I won’t erase his voicemail.
I replay it often. Praise the lord for the iCloud!

Another friend that I consider family Kev Dee, had a heart transplant in 2017. I can’t imagine life without my friend. His story about his heart transplant is simply so inspiring and was the icing on the cake! Life can go on and a transplant can provide a wonderful quality of life.

I realized in that moment, LOVE LIVES on because a heart never dies! ❤️

“Team Registered and Proud!”
When my time is up, the love in my heart will live on and other organs will help other families to realize love continues! ❤️

The Power of Love

What is success in my mind? Knowing my children are God Fearing, kind, leaders, respectful and committed to excellence in whatever makes their heart sing. I want the people I cross paths to know I care, family, friends, neighbors and all my clients, to know God, Jesus, my Dad and Mother can smile and say job well done! I strongly believe my Mother is looking down from Heaven and I must carry her Legacy!

It my turn to pass this on to my children! I was so inspired because my Daddy on Thanksgiving Day gave me my oldest son death certificate and a sermon written from my mother on Love! They both reminded me my time is limited on Earth 🌍 and Love is EVERYTHING! ❤️❤️❤️

Don’t waste a SECOND on PETTY ANYTHING! Team always moving forward and Focusing on Healing and Spreading God’s Love! It’s Impossible to Love God and YOU can’t relate or talk to your Brother/ Sister or Neighbor! GOD IS LOVE! ❤️❤️❤️

My daughter Ashley and Myself

Children are such a blessing! My daughter Ashley’s lesson to me on love. 😍

I’m now ready to share that when my mother passed away 7 years ago. I was in complete shock. My world 🌎 was completely turned upside down because my mother was my everything in a nutshell. She was My Bestfriend. My daughter walked into my room and said mom I have something I have to tell you! Grandma is fine! I said really! She said yes! I went to heaven and she told me to tell you she is great and know everything will be just fine! This is the eye 👁 popping statement!

Ashley said mom the houses 🏡 in Heaven are big! The colors are so beautiful and mom why didn’t you tell me grandma had a twin sister??? They didn’t look nothing alike and she was so smoky like. She said grandma and lots of family up in heaven are having a great time and they have cake 🎂 in heaven!

To say the least, I was in shock because I never got around to telling Ashley my mother was a twin and they were the opposite in everything. Ashley described my aunt and I was amazed. I still missed my mother but that gave me peace that passed all understanding! No tears at the funeral and had extreme peace but miss my mother dearly.

The next day my daughter Ashley told me mom don’t be sad because love 💕 Never dies and is the only things that can travel from heaven to earth 🌏 and back! Keep her in your heart and she will always live! This was all from my 8 year old at the time!

Children are a blessing! ❤️🙏🏾❤️

Death and the Collateral Beauty! ❤️

April 26, 2014, near 2am my life changed forever!

Dorothy Mae Roberson

My Mother passed away and the world shifted for me. Death is a complex emotional roller coaster and the ride is still going for me. However, death is also a beautiful thing and you actually can gain collateral beauty from it. Will Smith tried to explain in a previous movie named Collateral Beauty.

My Mother’s death, instantly changed my life. My Mother died unexpectedly at 69 years old. My Mother had high blood pressure and was slightly overweight and developed sleep apnea and didn’t know it. Long story short, she simply held her breath too long and passed away. Hindsight is always 20/20. I often think how my family and myself could have done many things differently.

So how did my Mother’s death impact me?

  1. I value people more and my time
  2. Family always will come 1st
  3. I Forgive, let silly stuff go quick and No is a sentence!
  4. I honor my Mother’ s Legacy by Giving My Time, Money or Resources
  5. I value the seniors still in my life and tell them
  6. I pray and value her lessons daily
  7. I understand 6ft up is a Gift
  8. Prayer is Powerful and Necessary
  9. Trust God and never put questions marks where God puts periods!
  10. Be the change you wish to see in the world and let the Jesus in You be Seen! Be his Agent through how you live and treat people! Always be kind and empathetic. People never
forget how you make them feel!!! ❤️❤️❤️
  11. Your health matter and you have to prioritize it and do your annual wellness exams
  12. I will sign the back of my driver license to be a donor. We could have possibly saved another life. Encourage other to discuss end of life plans to avoid future stress and have clear clarity on your loved one’s wishes. This is priceless! When you absolutely know the wishes/ decisions are so much easier to make! ❤️

God Has Angels on Earth

This event reminded me God is still in control and can use whoever he wants to. Therefore, a Angel can even be a 5 year old child. I took my nephew shopping for a fire truck 🚒 because I told him God used him and he is a hero and one of God’s Angel’s on earth. ❤️

God has angels on earth and in heaven. Every time I see this picture of my wonderful nephew I’m reminded of God at work. One evening, my nephew was sitting looking out his window and witnessed a man who fell off his motorcycle. My nephew ran and told my sister and sure enough my little adorable nephew was correct. The paramedics came and was able to assist the man and get him the appropriate medical treatment. My sister called and I got to talk to my nephew and he was so excited because he was able to help. He said the paramedics said his quick response helped the motorcyclist tremendously because it was night time and perhaps no one would have seen the accident due to the timing.

Beautifully Human

No man is an island and we all are in need and require support. Every man needs, God, air, water, food, shelter and love. Abraham Maslow was 100% Right regarding the Hierarchy of Needs and how our needs and wants shape us as people. We are Beautifully Human! Flawed, yet hopefully and striving each day to only be better than the Man or Woman we previously saw in the mirror the day before! ❤️❤️❤️

Abraham Maslow Hierarchy of Needs

The Beautiful thing about life and getting older is you get wiser. You realize that you want to build more bridges and dismantle all the fences. As one of my favorite Artist album title quotes by Jill Scott We All are “Beautifully Human”.

The Power of Hands

Recently, I posted a piece regarding a senior woman who basically did not like her hands because they had evidence of aging in her eyes. Therefore, she almost turned down a manicure and initially considered getting a clear polish because she did not want to attract any extra attention to her hands. Eventually, she was convinced to go with pink and loved her hands. That incident reminded me so much of my own Mother and when she got her very first manicure. In my opinion, the devil is always busy because through my eyes her hands were extraordinary.

Her hands tell a beautiful story of a life lived well and graciously enjoying the ride! ❤️❤️❤️

In my mind, all I could see is Blessed! To begin with, I saw a woman who was blessed to see many seasons and through it all learned how to embrace and enjoy the ride. I saw a woman who probably touch thousands of lives, prepared many meals, an perhaps prayed and made a significant impact on many through those wonderful hands.

Likewise, it definitely made me reflect and wish I had the opportunity to see my own mother’s hands again and hold them and tell her how Amazing she was! Dorothy Mae Roberson let me get her very 1st manicure and she Absolutely loved it and came home and told my dad proudly, I can’t do any dishes today because look at my hands. I laughed and explained to my Mother she had a no chip manicure and she could wash all the dishes she wanted to and her hands won’t mess up! It was amazing because I saw she loved her hands and through her own eyes, saw the beauty in them just like I did.

My Mother hands, prayed for me, made my clothes, showed me how to cook, how to sew, funny how to speak and use your hands and most importantly how to touch and agree and pray with her! My Mother was Amazing and I dearly Miss Her and would give anything to touch those hands and enjoy the presence of her company.

My Mother’s Hands

She after receiving over 110,000 views and hundreds of comments of other people saying they felt the same way I decided to take action.

I know the holidays are approaching fast and wouldn’t it be a Wonderful idea if we created a challenge and agreed to pay it forward and do something nice for a Senior in our own community locally. We can create Thousands of Beautiful Hands and Smiles!!! I contacted my friend Larry Roberts who owns a salon in the Walmart in Chicago and prepay for a 5 seniors ladies to have a manicure and I prepaid for 5 senior men to have a haircut in honor of my Mother Dorothy Mae Roberson!

My Mother’s Legacy is alive and well and her hands are still touching other through me now! Plus, My Beautiful Bestie from grammar school, Kimberly Jones Mother’s name was also Dorothy Mae and her mother has passed on too and we both agreed we are going to do something wonderful to ensure as long as we are alive, we use our hands to touch the lives of a senior and let them know they are loved and appreciated this thanksgiving!!! We have to do like her daddy said who recently just passed, put our hands on it and let our loved be felt through our actions and words! Love is a verb!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Love Never Dies! It’s eternal and the only gift that
can reach heaven from earth! ❤️😍❤️
