The Healing Benefits of a Hug

Happy Tuesday and Remember to consider the remarkable power and scientific benefits that a simple hug can bring to our lives. Research has shown that a warm embrace can do wonders for our emotional and physical well-being. It has the ability to elevate our spirits, reduce stress, and even lower blood pressure.

When we share a hug, we strengthen our connections with others, creating a sense of belonging and support that is essential for our mental health. In times of difficulty or uncertainty, a heartfelt embrace can provide comfort and reassurance, reminding us that we are not alone.

So, as you interact with those around you—whether it’s a close friend, a family member, or a colleague—consider taking a moment to share a hug. Let that embrace be a reminder of the love that surrounds us and the bonds we share. By doing so, you not only uplift your own mood but also spread positivity and warmth to those in your life. Embrace the joy and comfort that a simple hug can bring!

Health is Wealth!

Greatness is Inside of YOU!❤️

Happy Saturday and Remember as you embrace this beautiful day, take a moment to reflect on the idea that everything you need to fulfill your purpose is already embedded within you. Your genes and DNA carry the blueprint for resilience, providing you with the strength and adaptability to navigate life’s challenges. Within you lies the innate ability to form connections, to coach and mentor others, and to foster your own growth as you stretch beyond your limits.

Trust the journey you are on, and recognize that life is not merely happening to you; it is unfolding for you. Every experience, whether joyful or challenging, serves a purpose in shaping who you are and guiding you toward your goals. Remember, you hold the power to influence your circumstances. You are the thermostat that sets the tone for your life, creating an environment that nurtures your dreams and aspirations, rather than just responding to external conditions like a thermometer.

Embrace your potential, and allow yourself to thrive in the knowledge that you possess everything necessary to succeed. Keep moving forward with confidence, knowing that the universe is conspiring in your favor. Enjoy the day ahead!

You Can!!!

I truly believe that something great is in everyone. However, often we forget that every great anything started off small. Someone decided to take action and stared fear in the face and said I’m ready. Unfortunately, death and fear often steals so much from us! The reason death is so cruel and challenging is because the it also takes with it dreams, ideas, stories and the list goes on and on. Plus, let’s not forget wonderful recipes! I learned so much from my amazing mother but managed to let that recipe for her banana pudding not to be documented.

Likewise, fear is also very vicious! The thought of failure often stops most people from even attempting. As I get older and wiser, I’ve come to realize we only fail when we don’t try. We have to learn to fail our way right into success! Each failure brings you closer to success. Study all the greats and this is a common theme!

Finally, we have to get very comfortable and realize your real support system will most likely always be small literally and physically. What do I mean by that? I mean you have to learn the life lesson that quality is better than quantity in many cases. Everyone or person, place or thing isn’t for you. Find your village and watch you grow and thrive. Eliminate anything that doesn’t help feed your mind, body and spirit. Be very strategic at your most important role. Deciding who gets FaceTime and front row seats will be so key to your growth and elevation! So ask yourself again what time is it and get started! You got this because you were born too be great and greatness is a choice!

Be the Change You Desire to See!

My mother’s words constantly play in my head daily. She used to always say, ‘Love ❤️ is a verb…an action word.  It’s deeper than what you say, it’s a testament to what you DO!’ We all have gifts and talents that we can share. I believe deep in my soul it starts with the power of ONE.

One small act of kindness, volunteering, mentoring or helping a wayward child, can save a life. Our community can reach out beyond their own homes, we can help change our city for the better, because real change starts with me/you/and we.

I can’t save everyone, but I’m certain, I can touch many.  We can all find someone who needs a light. Yes…it’s a challenging time, but I know if God blesses me, he can do it for everyone, because he loves us all the same.

So, let’s Pay It Forward, and let God use us to heal our city.  He is still very much in the blessing business! We CAN encourage, mentor, coach, support, enlighten, sponsor a youth. Let’s not talk or sit on the sidelines. Let’s take action, tell the story and make a timely goal to encourage someone that needs it. The time is now to show Love is real!!! ❤️😊❤️

Let’s show the world the true power of  praying women and take back our schools, community, churches and any place where the darkness needs our light. So, on this morning, let us remember you are the church, therefore, the church travels with you everyday and everywhere. We don’t even have to have a t-shirt or bumper sticker for people to know, our light and life should tell the story; so the blind can see and the deaf can hear.  Get active and start being someone answered prayer!  We all have the power to empower, encourage and positively impact our communities starting today with you! ❤️❤️❤️

Communication is Vital

Communication

Is it possible to have great relationships? I think so if we make choices that are in agreements with our vision for our life. Yesterday, as I was reviewing one of my favorite sites it dawned on me why do so many people in relationships ignore extremely obvious signs of “Disaster”? Is it not common knowledge that communication is 80% non-verbal? Likewise, non-verbal communication is not sign language or letter writing because those forms would still require the use of words. Non-verbal communication is body language…which happends to be the things that your body does without any conscious thought that always tell the real story.

For example, if someone simply asks me “How are you Sharon” and I reply wonderful yet sound very dry, my eyes are looking down and worst of all, my voice tone reminds everyone of droopy the dog. Who in the world will I convince that I’m truly happy? In my, opinion, I personally believe that I would not convince any person with common sense because thankfully my body language has spoken all the volumes necessary to the average person with any common sense! As a result, words are powerful but need to be expressed in a uniform manner with our body language. Therefore, in relationships, it is so perplexing to me why so many men and women waste so much valuable time on truly several DEAD SITUATIONS!

To begin with, what is a DEAD SITUATION? The following are 5 great examples:
1. If a guy or girl never calls or initiate any form of contact, they are simply not interested. End of story please stop wasting your precious time on the why and move on! Time is so valuable and can never be replaced once it is spent. As a result, everyone should be so selective about who, what, when, where, why and how their time will ever be spent. Life will never offer a return on our time so remember to always spend time well.
2. If a guy or girl wants to be married, they will ask and nothing will hold them back or stop them if they are truly interested. However, if it takes a man or woman 65 years and I’m being funny, they simply just either do not want to marry you, are waiting on the bigger and better opportunity or Marriage is not a priority or on the to do list in their book. Final answer, actions speak louder than words, no exceptions and stop fighting the obvious!
3. Desperate is NEVER ATTRACTIVE and is a turn off, enough said already!
4. Confidence is VERY ATTRACTIVE! Attractiveness is truly a state of mind and is expressed from the inside out! True confidence can be identified a mile away always! Likewise, true beauty is beautiful on the inside and out and that is the end of that story!
5. Communication in a relationship is vital to any relationship true success. When a person cares for or loves you, they will always make it their business to show if they are truly vested in the relationship. Grown-ups always ensures that home is intact, safe and secured because no one wants to lose their best friend, missing rib or soul mate if they can help it. Trust and believe that will definitely cause true pain and sorrow. However, if a person can let you go easily, you were never, ever on their keepers list and trust everyone has a list and knows who is and isn’t on it.
Finally, remember always to keep God first and commit to being an asset oppose to a liability in a relationship. Remember, that if you put God first and focus on being the very best you, God always does answer prayer if your willing to put faith and works together.

The Front Row: Staring You

Front RowFront Row Seat – Life is the ultimate theater so invite your audiences carefully. Not everyone is holy enough and healthy enough to have a FRONT ROW seat in our lives. There are some people in your life who need to be loved
from a distance. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you let go,
or at least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible,
not-going-anywhere relationships, friendships, fellowships and family!

Not everyone can be in Your FRONT ROW.

Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention to: Which
ones lift and which ones lean? Which ones encourage, and which ones
discourage? Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which
ones are just going downhill? When you leave certain people, do you feel
better or feel worse? Which ones always have drama or don’t really
understand, know and appreciate you and the gift that lies within you?

Not everyone can be in Your FRONT ROW.

The more you seek God and the things of God, the more you seek
quality; the more you seek not just the hand of God but the face of God,
the more you seek things honorable; the more you seek growth, peace of
mind, love and truth around you, the easier it will become for you to
decide who gets to sit in the FRONT ROW and who should be moved to the
balcony of your life.

Everyone Can’t be in Your FRONT ROW.

You cannot change the people around you… but you can change the
people you are around! Ask God for wisdom and discernment and choose
wisely the people who sit in the FRONT ROW of your life. Remember
that FRONT ROW seats are for special and deserving people and those
who sit in your FRONT ROW should be chosen carefully.

Everyone Can’t be in Your FRONT ROW.

(I received this gift from Jennifer Lee 20 years ago, thanks 🙂

Hope all enjoy)

My Salutatorian

When Jared was 2, his father and I divorced and my son blessed me by showing me at the tender age of 2 that fathers are very important!!! I remember the first difficult task was meeting the girlfriend while my child was in the emergency room and they had just revived my son from being the color blue because he had stopped breathing. The second was going to my ex-husband’s girlfriend house for my son’s birthday party. I remember saying Jesus keep me and put on my happiest face! My sister Tiffany came with me and it felt like I was literally going to Hell! But, for Jared I was willing to do anything to help put a smile on my child’s face. As I walked out of that house, I knew, that I knew, that God was real! My ex-husband’s girlfriend family was so shocked at how nice I was to everyone! It was so obvious that they thought drama was very possible. The Lord was able to let my happiest face remain throughout the party and my son was so happy! That was the only goal and I knew the Lord was going to give me the strength!

Jared has been such a blessing to me! I have to tell you a story about Jared when I was single. One day when Jared & I was walking out the grocery store a man spoke to me and said hello. I looked surprised and when Jared and I got into my car Jared said, “Mommy are you going to be single forever, why didn’t you speak back to the man?” I looked at Jared and said to myself, wow out of the mouth of the child speaks the truth.

I will never forget the day my life changed forever on 8/24/2003, on the track of Morgan Park High School in Chicago. I met my husband officer Joseph Rowe and he is absolutely one of the best things that has ever happend to me! Joseph & I were married on 8/14/2004, and he has been absolutely key in my son Jared’s success and upbring! Joseph is a man’s, man and means BUSINESS!!! Joseph’s standanrds is EXCELLENCE and BELIEVES only the best will do! Anyone who knows him, knows what I’m talking about. It was very difficult sometimes as a mother to change and to let go of my ways and follow his path. Jared knew what Joseph said was not negotiable and he was firm! I have to say, Joseph taught my son how to ride a bike, that straight A’s in college is possible, that he means business and that love is more than just mere words. Love is all about actions! Thank You so much Joseph Rowe for being the man that I need as well as want. For being the Right man that Jared, Corey and Ashley need! For I have to acknowledge that our combine efforts will continue to bring forth great leaders and citizens of the world, that love God and know what their purpose is in Life! I might not say it everyday, but thank you for walking into my Life and Staying here through Everything! You are the blessing that God intended just for me!!! Plus for cooking each and everyday day!!!

Fast forward to the present, at Jared’s graduation was almost the entire blended family. Jared told me that he wanted to share his moment with everyone that played a key role in his life. Therefore, we explained to his teacher that was had to have additional tickets to accommodate all sides of the family. My husband Joseph, and daughter Ashley, My ex-husband Byron and his son Byron Jr. (his wife had to work), my parents Roosevelt & Dorothy, my ex-in-laws Marvin & Lilly, my sisters Tiffany, Jacqueline & brother Roosevelt Jr. and last but not least my best friend from high school Michelle.

In closing, as my son Jared walked the stage and received his 14 awards, I now know all of Joseph and my sacrifices and hard work is starting to paid off! This is just the beginning of more great things to come! My ex-father-law said Sharon you and Joe did an excellent job and I corrected him and said we all did!!! Each and every last one of us contributed to Jared’s success and I’m very thankful!

Thank God and the Lord, Jared was actually listening and he believes personally that “Greatness is a Choice”!!!
