Always remember who You Are! A Child of God!

I heard a doctor tell my client who he would never be because of his barriers. I instantly had a flash back. As a result, remember being told by a high school teacher I wasn’t college material. Thankfully, My Mother was Dorothy Mae Roberson!!! My Mother overcame so many adversities and when I told her what that teacher said, my Mother simply said Sharon God made You in His Image! You are More Than Enough and Everything You Need, God Already Put it in You! You Just have to Have Faith of A Mustard Seed and Work HARD.

I believe my Mother and trusted God’s Words and not only graduated from college with my bachelors but got My Master Degree in Science and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Be careful who you let speak over You! Always trust the God in You and do Your Part! Speak Life Over You and Everyone Attached to You!

I’m going to Encourage my client that he can be and do whatever he sets his mind to achieve. We all have barriers but they are not a life sentence. Address barriers and keep it moving upward and onward!!! Know Your Worth and Who You Belong Too!

Suicide Prevention Services

Suicide is everybody’s business. I can empathize with Regina because I have children. I remember seeing him struggling and wondering why didn’t I see this potential behavior health crisis sooner. As a working parents, finding a work life balance is CHALLENGING.

This past Year my 27 year old son struggled with his mental health as a result from witnesses a traumatic event during his military training. A young man killed himself due to the pressure right in front of my son. That experience caused my son PTSD and resulted in my own son’s suicidal thoughts and over 150 hospitalization.

As a result, I’m currently a Youth Mental Health First Aid provider.

Please save these free resources and let your loved ones know how valuable and important they are to you! No one is perfect, failure, challenges and mental health is a task we all manage daily. I want everyone to know help is free and available 24/7.

The suicide prevention and crisis life-line is available 24/7 by calling 988 or texting 988.

Thank You! ❤️

Thanks for all the calls, texts and birthday wishes! 51 was awesome and I truly appreciate all the wishes and encouragement. God has been so good to me and I’m so thankful for his grace and mercy.

I have learned to appreciate everything and never take anything for granted. I used to have the luxury of having my Mother being the 1st call I would receive and her telling me some story about me. My Mother was my person and I loved and admired her so much. My Mother was a Godly woman, wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, Bestie, entrepreneur, wonder friend and neighbor. If you knew Dorothy Mae Roberson, You were Blessed.

She was a Wonderful Person and when you lose someone like that, you are never quite the same. However, I have grown and learned that there is a Blessing in death. Death reminds you to respect, appreciate and move forward. Because of God’s Grace and Mother’s Lessons, I honestly cherish people and time in a whole NEW WAY. I take Nothing for Granted and treat Seniors Extra Special.

So thanks again and Continued Blessings! ❤️🙏🏾❤️

Happy Birthday to ME! Chapter 51! ❤️❤️❤️

It’s official, 51 has arrived! So Grateful and Thankful to God, JESUS and the Holy Spirit. When I turned 50, it was during the heart ❤️ of the pandemic, it was quiet, no where to go even if you wanted to. Nothing quite the way I would have planned it. However, Every Single Day I started it with Standing on God’s Word and My Bible Daily. My Bible is literally right next to my front DOOR! I Never Leave Home Without Standing on His Words!!! ❤️🔥❤️

I saw some pretty dark days! But, I listened to what my Mother Dorothy Mae Roberson taught me! Prayer can change anything and is the most incredible gift in the world!!! I prayed like never before!!! My son was in the hospital over 18 times due to the Army/ PTSD and witnessing a close friend passing from Suicide!!! Everyday I prayed and touched and agreed!!!

Praise Report! My Son is fine Now!!!! 6 months and no more hospital visits!!!!! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽On his own! Own car, place and in his healthy state of Mind! God is still in the Miracle Business and God is Still in Control and the Devil Can’t have ANYTHING THAT BELONGS TO ME!

He is taking me and my daughter out in the morning to get our nails done!!!! This is the BEST Gift EVER!!!

My other son Became a Sheriff and graduated from the sheriff academy!

My Mini is on the honor roll and the sweetest child who unfortunately likes the same things I do!!! 3 more years!!!

Got my dream car and named her Dorothy Mae!!! My Mother is Always with me! Her legacy of giving continues through me!

Finally, just want to share that God is Able to do exceedingly Above All Things!!! Trust you spiritual eyes and never your circumstances! Your Board of Directors, God, JESUS, the Holy Spirit and YOU!!! That All YOU Ever Need!!! The rest is pure BONUSES!!! God has 20/20 Vision and All Promises are YES and AMEN!!! ❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️

You Define YOU! ❤️

500,307 steps and counting! ❤️😊❤️

Earlier this year I went to the doctor and he said Sharon you have gained the Covid-19 25 pounds. Meaning working remotely and sitting on the couch/ table/ desk for 8 hours a day and not exercising has effectively caused me to gain weight. I said to myself, Wow! My clothes was tight and I simply didn’t appreciate that the pandemic had took away many things but it wasn’t going to have my health and give me extra pounds!!!! Especially, since I was a Care Coordinator and Care Planning and Disease Management is my thing!

I became my own Care Manager and Care Planned MY OWN SELF.

  1. I only drink water.
  2. Work out by simply walking everyday rain or shine for an hour.
  3. Wake up early and prayer and mediate
  4. Limited the negative people, places and things.
  5. Read everyday and become more active with my blogging everyday before 8am.
  6. Purchased a smart scale
  7. Download Step app
  8. Stayed in contact with my mentors weekly
  9. Consistently go were I’m appreciated
  10. Most importantly put GOD FIRST!!!

It is December 26, 2021 and my deadline was 12/31/21, to hit my goal of 500,000 steps!

She DID IT! 500,307 steps, 216.12 miles!
We can do whatever we put our minds to do! Excited for 51 and what God has for 2022!!! ❤️

Empty Seats and the Holidays

Happy Sunday and Remember How Blessed You Are if You Don’t Have Empty Seats at Your Table. The holidays are a Wonderful Time for many who have the Blessings of still having their Beloved Family Members Still Here. However, many of us wish for just 5 minutes again. Often around this time of year seasonal depression can take its toll on many people.

The holidays are hard because our treasured loved ones are no longer here. In the past 10 years I have lost over 30 near and dear family members and friends. From my dear Mother, Father-in-law, Pastor, Bestie from College, Bestie from high school, coworkers, Neighbor, Cousins, Aunt, Uncle, Photographer, Wonderful Friends and countless others.

On my flight back from Florida a few years ago, the movie playing was Best Man Holiday. All I have to say is thank God I had the window seat and a mask on. The tears rolls like nobody Business. Thankfully, no one saw, including my daughter and husband. However, I found so much comfort being in the clouds. That in itself felt like a hug from my Mother and Loved Ones in Heaven! Their presence was strong and I kept thinking we are so Blessed because Love is Eternal and Love Never Dies.

The movie stress the importance that God, Family and your purpose is Everything and God is Always in Control no Matter the Circumstances to Trust in the Plan!!! Knowing somedays are Extremely Difficult but be Confident in Knowing God is in Control!!! Trust, Have Faith and Submit to His Will.

Supporting a family member or friend suffering from seasonal depression or other mental health issues can be challenging but also crucial. Here’s a checklist to guide you:

Educate Yourself

  • Learn about seasonal depression (SAD) and its symptoms.
  • Understand common treatment options and coping strategies.

Open Communication

  • Initiate a conversation about their feelings when they seem open to talking.
  • Listen actively and validate their feelings without judgment.

Encourage Professional Help

  • Suggest they speak to a mental health professional if they haven’t already.
  • Offer to help them find a therapist or accompany them to appointments.

Offer Emotional Support

  • Be there for them consistently; check in regularly via calls or texts.
  • Offer a non-judgmental space for them to express themselves.

Promote Healthy Lifestyle Choices

  • Encourage physical activity; invite them for walks or gentle exercises.
  • Suggest healthy eating habits; offer to cook meals together.

Encourage Sunlight Exposure

  • Promote outdoor activities, especially on sunny days.
  • Discuss the option of light therapy if appropriate.

Plan Social Activities

  • Invite them to gatherings or outings, but respect their need for space.
  • Offer activities that align with their interests (e.g., movies, games).

Be Patient and Understanding

  • Recognize that recovery takes time; be patient with their progress.
  • Avoid giving unsolicited advice or minimizing their feelings.

Create a Supportive Environment

  • Help create a calming space at home (e.g., decluttering, adding plants).
  • Encourage routines that promote stability and comfort.

Check Your Own Well-Being

  • Ensure you’re also taking care of your mental health.
  • Seek support for yourself if needed, as supporting others can be taxing.

Stay Informed

  • Keep updated on resources and local support groups for mental health.
  • Share helpful articles or resources with them if they’re receptive.

Follow Up

  • Regularly check in on their progress and feelings.
  • Celebrate small victories and encourage continued efforts toward well-being.
  • If you or someone you know is suicidal or experiencing a mental health crisis, please call or text 988.
  • If a person is in immediate danger or suicidal please call 911.

Conclusion
Supporting someone with seasonal depression or mental health issues is about being present and compassionate. Your understanding and assistance can make a significant difference in their journey toward recovery.

The Blessings in Storms and Pain! ❤️🙏🏾❤️

Happy Testimonial Thursday and Remember there is a Blessing in Your Storm and Pain!

As I reflex and 51 is around the corner, I can share my truth about God, JESUS and the Holy Spirit. When I lost my mother 7 years ago unexpectedly, I had to put my faith to work. My Mom was MY Biggest Supporter, Cheerleader , Spiritual Guide and Teacher! However, 4/26/2014, near 2am changed everything. When I got that call, It took my breath away and I had to see it to believe it. I flew to the hospital and even drove myself to Roseland Hospital with my family.

Despite what anyone has to say about Roseland Hospital, they showed me and my family so much compassion. They prepared my mother and wrapped her cozy in blankets and she had the biggest smile on her face. I just starred looking and realized instantly it is now my turn!

Words can’t express how much I miss My Mother. But now I put her loving lessons into actions. Faith without works is DEAD. I’m a Social Worker and I work with seniors daily and I treat each one with Kindness, respect and as if they were my Mom. I do this in every aspect of my life. I realize you have to show people you care as well as tell them. I have advanced directives, Power of Attorney form completed, I’m a donor and My Family Know My Wishes Clearly to save other the pain of guessing.

My Mother always said Love is a Action Word and a Verb. It is what you do more so than what you say!

Sunday, I was in Kentucky and flew out right before the storm. I realized again God can take you to a storm and out of it. No matter what to always trust, pray and have faith knowing whatever happens God is in Control and can give you purpose and peace that surpasses all understanding.

Finally, My Bestie and I took that picture by the late Great Ernest Collins for My 50Th Birthday. Little did I know that would be my last photoshoot with him because he passed shortly afterwards. What my point on sharing, it is we never know when our time is coming so Cherish the Day! Every Day is Precious and Richness is a mindset, Time is irreplaceable and Life is a Gift. Let all the people you Love know it before a Funeral, give appreciation and flowers yet while they live!!! God Bless and Happy Holidays! ❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
